SEMINAR PROGRAMME
Introduction to Oral Appliance Therapy for Snoring and Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA)
It is estimated that 9% of Australians suffer from sleep disorders costing our economy 5 billion dollars a year. In addition, there are significant comorbidities associated with untreated sleep disorders. Of note, undiagnosed and untreated obstructive sleep apnoea(OSA) patients are at an increased risk for cardiovascular diseases such as hypertension, congestive heart failure and stroke, metabolic diseases and neurocognitive disorders. Dental practitioners are now recognized to have an important role in caring for these patients.
This seminar will be an introduction for the dental practitioner interested in incorporating Dental Sleep Medicine into their practice.
